Her dedication to her community has been demonstrated in many ways, especially through her church. Dr Bao has participated in various local and international charities, including "give a gift of sight", vision screenings, hurricane Allison/Katrina relief, etc. She also has a particular interest in fitting the latest technology in contact lenses in order to provide her patients with the best vision and comfort possible. Bao particularly enjoys examining the pediatric population and tries to make it a fun and stress-free experience. She provided primary and emergency eye care to patients of all ages in the community. Bao practiced for 5 years in many private and corporate settings.

She has received extensive training in Primary Care, Pediatrics, Glaucoma and pre and post-op management of patients who have undergone cataract and laser surgery, and scientific research. She has a Bachelor Degree in Biochemistry from Xiamen University, a Master degree in Biology from Marshall University, and obtained her doctorate degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2003.
