UPDATE (04/26): New images of the upcoming "Sail/Obsidian-University Blue" have surfaced, courtesy of on Instagram. Take a first look at the collegiate release below. A crisp white base complemented with ‘University Blue’ and ‘Midnight Navy’ overlays, paired with perforated details on the toe box and a Nike woven. The "Sail/Obsidian-University Blue" Air Jordan 1 is currently rumored to hit select retailers on August 17 for $160. Dressed in a Sail, Obsidian, and University Blue color block, The all-leather Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG ‘Obsidian’ pays tribute to Micheal Jordan’s UNC alma mater.
A crisp white base with complementary overlays in University Blue and Midnight Navy combine as an homage to Michael Jordan’s UNC alma mater. Jordan Brand released a very similar colorway this past February to celebrate NBA All-Star weekend in Charlotte that featured patent leather panels in place of the tumbled leather seen on this pair. The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Obsidian arrives with classic color blocking on a traditional all-leather build. University Blue colors the ankle straps, heel, and "Nike Air" branding on each tongue tag. This pair features a Sail leather upper with Obsidian leather used on the toe, eyelets, ankle collar, and Swoosh. The Air Jordan 1 is the latest retro silhouette to get dressed in Carolina Blue. Black, red, and white color schemes inspired by the Chicago Bulls will always be the most consistent from the Air Jordan line, but another frequent inspiration is his alma mater, the UNC Tar Heels.
